18 Feb 2008 - Match report – Bacton U13 v Copleston U13 – 17th February 2008

Cops took on Bacton on a cold crisp morning and the match was in danger of being called off by the referee due to a frozen pitch. Some sunshine and discussion got the game under way.

The first half was a stormer by the Cops with them taking a 9-0 lead into half time. It was impossible to work out who scored and in what order so I will save that to the end. Each player was taking a turn in goal and the goals kept flowing.

Half time – Bacton 0 Copleston Girls 9

The girls took to the field for the second half with the team talk consisting of go do that again. The goals kept flowing with Jess, Ashleigh and Jazzy grabbing hat tricks. Ashleigh had actually scored five in the first half. Jess was inspirational today and possibly had her best ever game for the cops with some glorious finishing. The pick of the goals was Beth’s who ran almost the length of the pitch before a one two with Ash and then slammed the ball home. Bacton scored a consolation goal and credit to them for keeping going.

So the goal scorers where Ashleigh 5, Jess 4, Jazzy 4, Beth, Bridie and Kelly. Well done girls and so much better then against Brandon. The management team got home without any new car troubles and a good day all round against a friendly and hard working Bacton side.  This was our biggest ever win.
