10 Mar 2008 - Semi Final Match Report - Sunday 9th March 2008 - Under 15 Copleston v Framlinham Town
What a day to record our first clean sheet since 7th October. And what a performance! On a day when each of the eleven girls had an individual job to do, everyone did what was asked of them. Paul and I couldn’t be prouder of what was also an outstanding team performance.
Grace scored after just three minutes to give the Cop’s a perfect start (Grace, you’re third top scorer now). The home team had a few scary moments in the first half and were happy to go in one up at half team. The second half began just the same as the first and Copleston were two nil up after around three minutes of the restart, thanks to a well taken goal from Siobhan.
The Copleston back four of Eve, Emily, Emily and Amy T were in awesome form all game and Framlingham found it impossible to get through. The midfielders of Grace, Alysha, Leah and Bria worked hard to support the attackers and defenders when they needed support and the front three of Siobhan, Coutney and Amy B gave the Framlingham defenders a difficult morning.
Siobhan capped another Girl of the Game performance with a really well struck goal which gave the keeper no chance, to put the Cop’s three nil up and which made the last ten minutes a bit less traumatic for the spectators than the last ten against Felixstowe in the previous round.
I had a feeling back in September that this was our cup year. You can all look forward to collecting a medal in the final in April. And on today’s form, no one will fancy Copleston!
You wanted it most today, you worked hard for each other and you deserved your victory. Well done.
