14 Apr 2008 - Copleston U15 v Framlingham U15 - Match report - 13th April 2008
First half, awful – second half, awesome!
A lack lustre first half performance from the Copleston team against a Framlingham team playing with their usual energy and enthusiasm saw the first half end goalless.
The Cops were transformed in the second half which proved to be great preparation for the Cup Final next weekend.
Siobhan scored a sensational goal from all of 20 yards – I’m still sure it’s the first goal she’s scored for Copleston outside of the 6 yard box in 4 years – and proceeded to have an effort on goal from distance every time the opportunity arose. Well done Siobhan!
An inspired substitution by Paul Trenter saw Leah and Laura come on as substitutes just before a corner was about to be taken. A great corner from Leah was played back to her by a Framlingham defender and Laura ghosted in at the far post to convert Leah’s second cross.
How enjoyable was that? A first goal for the club for Laura and a move we had practiced for half an hour in the rain at training last Sunday and on Wednesday night.
So, three valuable points well deserved.
Alysha won Girl of the Game, in recognition of her hard work and nifty footwork today – well done Alysha. She left on the final whistle to go to
Cup final here we come – you know you’re good enough to win it.
