30 May 2007 - New Copleston Team Badge Unveiled - Congratulations to Sophie O’Brien
Copleston Girl’s footballer, Sophie O’Brien was the winner of the recent competition to design the Copleston Girls Football Club badge. Her effort featured a football and the Copleston torch to build on the close relationship we have with the school and also give us our own identity.
Sophie’s drawing was kindly converted into graphics by the Evening Star, who also ran a story on her and the club in their Grass Roots section of the newspaper. The new design can now be found on the website and will be used in the future for all club matters and also on the team kit at some point.
Sophie was chosen from many high quality entries and unfortunately there could only be one winner. The club Chairman Paul Rutter thanked everyone for the time they took to put their entries together and he said, “Sophie’s badge will now go down in history and move our club forward in the right direction. I would like to thank Sophie and the Evening Star for the time and effort they have put into the competition.”
Sophie received a £10 voucher for her winning entry and a place in history. Her entry and the new badge are featured on this page.
