10 Oct 2007 - Copleston U15 v Brightlingsea U15 - 7th October 2007 - Match report
Copleston 3 Brightlingsea 0
Another good performance from the U15s saw them record a 3-0 victory against an ever improving Brightlingsea team.
The match was closely contested until midway through the first half when Emily Double scored her first goal of the season with a 25 yarder, which squeezed past the Brightlingsea keeper.
Siobhan Hankers continued her fine goal scoring form, making it 2-0 before the interval. Not to be outdone by her strike partner, Sammy Squirrell scored Copleston’s third in the second half.
This was another good squad performance, with new girls Courtney Barker, Amy Bennett and Grace Arbon all performing well.
The players from both teams are to be congratulated for playing the match in a competitive and sporting way.
The votes for Girl of the Game were shared between a number of players, but Emily Double deservedly became the fifth player this season to come out on top. Well done Emily.
Bria’s displays this year are also worthy of a mention – her increasing self confidence is evident for everyone to see. Well done Bria.
In fact, well done everyone today. You are all improving as individuals, but perhaps more importantly, also improving as a team.
