Copleston Girls Under12’s Spring Football Tournament

Teams from Witnesham Wasps, Copleston Under 10’s and Copleston Under 12’s took part in a mini football tournament on Sunday 4^th March. Each team putting two teams into the event.

The rain stayed off long enough to get proceeding under way with some good football being played all round. Each team had to play each other and there were some very close fought games.

Half way through the heavens opened and it rained heavily for the rest of the day. The girls played on regardless and some great goals were being put away.

The final game of the day featured Copleston Under 12 Blue team against Witnesham Wasps A team. The winner would take the title. An early goal by Ashleigh Trentor proved decisive for Copleston who went on to win the game 1-0. The Copleston Under 12 Blue team won every game and proved worthy champions.

Ipswich  Town’s Fabian Wilnis presented the winning team with medals at the end of an exhausting, wet but thoroughly enjoyable day. A big thank you to Witnesham Wasps and Copleston Under 10’s and Under 12’s for taking part in a very sporting manner.
