28 Jan 2008 - Cops U13’s Storm into Semi Final

On a windy Sunday morning Copleston Under 13’s took on Bacton in the Cup. The match started slowly and it was not until the 15th minute that Cops took the lead with Naomi showing some neat skills to outfox the Bacton defence and put the sky blues one up. Naomi quickly added a second before Rachel blasted home the third.

Half time – Copleston   3 – Bacton 0

The second half was one-way traffic as Copleston put the foot on the gas and goals were going in on a regular basis. Jasmine and Naomi both helped themselves to hat-tricks with Kelly and Rachel bagging a brace. Sarah also popped up with a goal and Ashleigh put the finishing touches to a 12-0 victory. Although not troubling the scorers Becky put in a great morning’s work and ran herself into the ground. Sophie made her competitive debut and looked on the pace. In goal Charlie was a virtual spectator for much of the game but kept her concentration to pull off three great saves.

Well done to all the girls for a professional effort played in a competitive and friendly way. Cops are now in the semi-final for the first time and look forward to the match with great enthusiasm. Thanks to Bacton for a spirited display and we look forward to meeting them again in a few weeks.
